September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the Gold Ribbon Square

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Our daughter, Colleen, died of bone cancer when she was 9 years old. I crocheted the Colleen square in honor of her cancer journey. The gold ribbon represents childhood cancer awareness because children are more precious than gold. When I assembled my granny square blanket, I made sure that the Colleen square was front and center - in the most prominent spot on the blanket, right where my eye lands first. One of the many small ways we honor her in our home. 🎗️ #crochet #crocheting4calm #childhoodcancerawareness #childloss #goldribbon
