The 13 square Franken-tote
What's in this post
Ever start a project, run out of yarn, try to wing it with a different weight, and just embrace the total chaos? 😅 I set out to make a 13-square granny tote using some gorgeous gifted 3-weight yarn, but only had enough to crochet the squares. I ended up using a different type of 3 weight yarn to join the squares and a 4-weight yarn to crochet the top and the handles (all using the same hook). While it initially appeared to be working out, subsequent rounds turned the top noticeably wider! Since it was for me, I decided to keep going and lean into the Frankenstein's monster energy. It might be bits and pieces of random stash yarn, and it might not be completely uniform, but I loved the process, it is still wildly functional, and I learned so much along the way.
